Amira earned her B.S at Morgan State University and went on to continue her academic studies at Rutgers University in the Advanced Standing MSW program with a Clinical specialization, graduating with Summa Cumme Laude Honors in both her undergrad and graduate academia.

Many may refer to her as a true dreamer, advocate, and change reformer. She has years of experience working with diverse populations from various backgrounds. Her warm hearted approach and vibrant spirit allows clients to engage within a space of non-judgement, open-mindedness, inclusivity, and safety.

Amira uses a person-centered, holistic approach that highlights the use of self discovery and internal empowerment. She has experience working in a wide range of practice settings with children as young as two to older adults in their transitioning phases of life. She specializes in Anxiety, Depression, ASD-related challenges, Abuse/Neglect, Grief/Bereavement, Anger Mgmt, and Substance Abuse. Amira works eclectically to suit the needs of the individual. Under the umbrella of a trauma informed and strengths based approach, modalities used in treatment may include Play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT/TF-CBT), Exposure Therapy, Psychodynamic/dramatic Therapy, Family Therapy, and Mindfulness Practice.
